Intro
We started Film North, a collaborative of film/video professionals and enthusiasts in
Beverly, Massachusetts. This is for those in the city and surrounding areas. We had a few screenings, and now we are starting panels and seminars on topics that our members might find interesting.
We are having a short film screening on April 26. Anyone who wants to submit must do so by April 8, 2005. Submissions must be no longer than 20 minutes. ½” VHS or DVD in NSTC format only. Films should be mailed to: Film North

The purpose of this blog is to inform others as to what is happening with Film North and to allow others to use this as a bulletin board. In that we are trying to a maintain good relationship with our mayor and other politicians, I have to restrict postings pertaining to the adult entertainment industry. Personally, I have no objection. However, politically, it is a problem. There are grants, incentives and restrictions determined by politicians.
We all have different backgrounds and talents. Many are directly involved in productions with many years of experience. I took an early retirement from an unrelated field, and decided to go back to something I loved. The last time, I had difficulty finding labs that would guarantee against piracy from their source. Distribution was another problem. You can go broke on a great film if nobody will pay to watch it or know that it exists. While I work on my projects, I want to help others with theirs. I can work part time on a deferred basis. I will be paid contingent on you selling your product.
I believe that people should be able to make a living doing what they love. We have a lot of creative people in the area. Do you think you have the talent to be successful? Anyone can make excuses. What do you want, and how can a group such as Film North help you?
