And all the proceeds benefit Bead for Life, an awesome nonprofit organization which allows gifted women in Uganda to use their artistry with jewelry to lift their families our of extreme poverty. Please plan to attend!

Don’t forget to park in the Church Street lot if the weather’s good. Pay the $20 prepayment when you enter, but bring your CinemaSalem ticket stub back to the parking lot when you return to your car, and you’ll get a full refund on your $20. PLEASE NOTE: If the weather is inclement, there is no $20 prepayment, just the lot’s relatively reasonable regular rates. In that situation, you will need to pay the normal rate and will not get a refund.

The Cape Ann Community Cinema wraps up its 32-day DoctoberFest Documentary Film Festival this Sunday, November 1st with the touching baseball documentary, “The Lost Son Of Havana.” The film is about former Red Sox pitching ace Luis Tiant and his recent return to his native Cuba after a 46-year absence. The film runs at 7:30pm, and will be presented by producer Kris Meyer, who will host a Q&A after the show. Cape Ann is familiar to Meyer, who produced the Farrelly Brothers’ 2003 comedy, “Stuck On You,” starring Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear. The special $10.00 ticket will benefit The JJ Nicastro Foundation.

The Cinema resumes its regular schedule on November 3rd and 4th at 7:30pm with the next “Essential Art House” film, “Black Orpheus.” Funny folkie (and Lynn native) Don White takes the stage Friday the 6th at 8:00pm. The dark “Big Fan” starring comedian Patton Oswald opens Friday the 6th.
